Ferraduel
Ferraduel is an French originated almond variety. Due to late foliation Ferraduel is not effected by late spring frosts (resistance is higher than Texas & Nonpareil). As a result Ferraduel completes fruit development later than other varieties. Tree’s resistance to Monilia disease is high but sensitive to necrosis.
Ferraduel’s fruit size is medium, Shell structure is medium and can be cracked by using tooth. Kernel quality is good, recovery ratio around 27% and weights 1.4gr. Chance for growing double kernel is 0%.
Ferraduel can not pollinate itself so additional pollinators must be used. Ferragnes can be used as pollinator. For orchards with French varieties Ferraduel generally used as pollinator.
