Ferragnes
Ferragnes is a French originated almond variety. Due to late foliation Ferragnes is not effected by late spring frosts (resistance is higher than Texas & Nonpareil). As a result Ferragnes completes fruit development later than other varieties. Tree’s resistance to Monilia disease is moderate.
Ferragnes’s fruit size is medium, Shell structure is hard and can be cracked by means of using tools (hammer, etc..). Kernel quality is good, recovery ratio around 30% and weights 1.4gr. Chance for growing double kernel is 0%.
Ferraduel can be used as pollinator. For orchards with French varieties Ferragnes generally used as main variety.
