Hartley

Hartley

Hartley is a hybrid variety and its crown structure size fits in mid range. Hartley is not suitable for climates where winter is cold and warm seasons are short. For optimum growing rates fertile soil is a must.

Fruit development starts 3 weeks later then early blooming varieties, around 7-10 days later then Franquette and harvest starts in mid season.

Resistance to trunk worms and blight is moderate. Also infertile lands and lack of water lowers its resistance to blight & tree worms.

Even though yield in lateral buds is relatively low, Hartley’s overall yield is high. Fruits are large and weight around 5.9 gr. Kernel recovery ratio is around 45%. Due to blooming in late season, Hartley needs pollinators which develop also in late season. Amigo and Franquette can be used as pollinator to improve overall yield.
