Howard is a relatively new variety. Resistance to diseases is moderate. Tree crown grows both in vertical and circumferential direction which makes it suitable for home gardening. Howard foliates in mid spring and harvest starts in mid season.

Resistance to blight and tree worms is moderate. Overall and lateral yield are high and fruits are large & round, weights around 6.0 gr. Kernel recovery ratio is around 50%. Franquette, Cisco and Tehama can be used as pollinator to improve overall yield.
